Backroads, an internationally known travel company based in Berkeley, hired Garden Architecture to transform a bleak, exposed asphalt parking lot into a serene, stone courtyard that perfectly reflects the alpine experience espoused by this organization.
A welcoming entry gate leads into what is now a beautiful, mature garden, complete with river-washed boulders brought in to enhance the naturalistic setting.
We designed and built this project 17 years ago and it was wonderful opportunity to be asked by our clients to rethink some of the plantings as it has matured over time.
So just recently we have given this wonderful space a fresh new look.
